2nd Quarter Finish Goals for 2018

It sure doesn't look like spring here where I live. Old Man Winter is still hanging on but that is fine with me. When warmer weather begins that means I will be working outside and my time in the sewing room will be drastically reduced. That being said, I will attempt to list my goals for this next quarter knowing that there will be interruptions.

She Can Quilt

You can join this community of crafters if you like by clicking the link above. If you've missed the deadline you can always return in time for the next one. Setting goals, working to completion, and then linking your finishes with the hopes of winning some great prizes is the motivation I need. 

1. Mary Mayhem's New Year's Mystery - Zigs & Zags

a carry-over from last quarter. It is a completed top but needs to be quilted. Hopefully I can make that happen this time!

2. On Ringo Lake

I keep moving forward on this one. All units are now completed and I even have one block done - couldn't wait to see it together. Now all the blocks need to be pieced together, sashings attached, setting triangles and borders added. Phew! There is still a lot of work remaining on this one!

3. La'Carlene Medallion

I made some serious headway on this top last quarter as I got two borders on. I had to make some adjustments because I ran out of fabric for the setting triangles of the Lemoyne stars. I seem to get stuck on medallions as they are harder than they appear. There is little room for error as each border must fit before the next can be applied. 

Only three more rows/borders need to added and this top is done! I am still not sure how I will have this quilted. It probably will go to my long-arm quilter because I just want it finished!

3. Be My Neighbor

This is just a fun project! I get one block done and I can't wait to make the next. I'm afraid I'll run out of fabric so I've been picking up a few coordinating pieces along the way. 

4. Siggie Blocks

These signature blocks are from the Dear Jane swaps in the early 2000's. Maybe I have one of yours? They really need to be completed into a quilt and enjoyed! Lots of trimming will be needed but other than that, they should go together quite quickly... After photographing these I realize I probably have enough for 3 quilts! I really want to get started on this one soon!

5. 30's Block of the Month

Another project leftover from the early part of this new millennia! I have a setting in mind and anxious to get started. Once this top is completed I can begin work on my nieces inherited Sunbonnet Sue quilt (see below). It is really worn and needs some "Sue's" replaced. I don't really want to purchase anymore 30's fabrics than what I need so I'll need to be resourceful with the first project.

There are 13 large blocks and 4 smaller basket blocks as you can see. Such bright pretty colors!

6. Sunbonnet Sue Vintage Quilt Restoration
This ol' quilt is really worn and some of the Sue's are completely gone. I really don't want to purchase more fabrics so I will have to be resourceful in the above project. I may even have a few old aprons boxed away that I can use. They may be the better choice.

Only 6 items but these listings are ambitious goals because they will not be fast projects to complete. Hopefully I will have some finishes to report by June.
