A quilt top came home recently from the long arm quilter.
My Vintage Stitches quilt was made from leftover blocks from the original Vintage Stitches project. The original Thimbleberries Club member kit was made with 24 blocks of the month - to be used for a reversible quilt. I made the front as directed and can be seen here, but I opted out of making it reversible.
Instead I made Irish Chain style alternate blocks for this setting and made an additional throw size quilt.
Every quilt has a story and this one is that I was less than 2" short of binding fabric. I found a close match and put it in. Now I cannot find the shortage!
I am so glad that every inch of this fabric is used up!
Just a small green scrap inserted did the trick.
Another finish for the shelf and is ready for gifting. This was my number 16 on my 3rd Quarter Finish Along Goal List
She finishes at 78" x 78" and I used up 13 yards of stash!
You too can join us in setting your goals for finishes. Visit She Can Quilt for more details before the last quarter begins for 2018.
Yah!!! Congratulations on the binding fix and an ICC finish!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful quilt. I love how the diagonal lines set off, frame, and accentuate the pieced blocks.
ReplyDeleteYay for using up every last inch! It's a beauty. On behalf of the FAL crew, thank you for joining in!
